OUR COMMITMENTS

WELCOME TO LUZ COLLECTIONS!

At Luz, a beautiful look always starts with a clear conscience. Since 2011, we have been reinventing women's wardrobes: swimsuits and sportswear with a simple conviction: beauty is inseparable from ethics. And it all starts with the material.

Luz Collections, an eco-responsible sports brand, are designed with carefully selected materials to promote health and well-being of the body, while being respectful of the environment. Prioritizing comfort and durability, while preserving our precious planet.

Our Choice of Materials

Choose before you create

Before the cut, before the color, there's the choice of material. This is where the essential happens – and this is where most brands close their eyes. We've taken the opposite approach: never design anything we can't stand behind down to the fiber.

Every Luz piece is born from a demanding arbitration between comfort, performance, and impact. A material that holds up in water, resists chlorine and sun, enhances the body without exhausting the planet. This is not a compromise: it's our starting point. From seed to flower harvest, organic cotton is grown without pesticides, insecticides, or chemical fertilizers, and without GMOs. Producers use natural fertilizers and insecticides that do not harm surrounding ecosystems, do not deplete soils, and are not toxic to the people working on the production line. Our cotton is certified by the GOTS label, the world leader in organic textile certification. Fishing nets account for more than 10% of the waste found on the seabed. To combat this environmental catastrophe, we wanted to use ethical materials.

It was only natural that we chose Econyl, a 100% recycled and recyclable yarn. This yarn has an "infinite" life cycle and aims for zero waste. Because we always want to go further in our eco-responsible approach, our products are also Oeko-tex certified. This internationally recognized label is a guarantee of safety and reliability, essential for clothes you wear daily with peace of mind. This certification indicates that our products are reliably tested for harmful substances, guaranteeing that our products are not harmful to your health. The choice of our materials was carefully considered, and we are committed to using quality materials to satisfy you.

ECONYL

What is Econyl?

Econyl is a recycled nylon fiber made from fishing nets and waste collected from seas and oceans. After treatment, these are transformed into fiber and then into fabric, ideal for making many sportswear or swimsuits.

At Luz collections, these materials are used for making a multitude of products, such as wetsuits, cycling suits, swimsuits, leggings, sports bras, t-shirts, shorts, and hooded raincoats (K-Way).

Why Econyl?

Econyl emits 80% less greenhouse gases than conventional nylon, which is a significant reduction in emissions given that nylon accounts for 9% of synthetic fibers used worldwide.
To produce Econyl, raw material is collected from the oceans, whereas it would have taken between 400 and 1,000 years for it to decompose in a marine environment. The production of Econyl fabric helps clean the oceans of millions of abandoned fishing nets that threaten marine flora and fauna. The Econyl® we use is a 100% recycled and recyclable nylon fiber, produced from plastic waste from fishing nets and other marine debris. By integrating it into our collections, Luz Collections actively contributes to reducing marine pollution while offering durable and modern pieces.

ORGANIC COTTON

Global Organic Textile Standard

Concerned about the environment, we want to reduce our ecological impact, produce in a more ethical and responsible way, and offer you quality products. After several years of work and numerous efforts, we are getting closer to our goal by obtaining this certification.

Thanks to this label, we promise to respect...

● Ecology:- a minimum of 90% organic fibers in our products - an absence of harmful chemical products - a reduction in water and energy consumption - ecological manufacturing from the beginning to the end of the production chain.

● Social aspects:We comply with ILO (International Labour Organization) conventions through: - safe working conditions - decent wages - no forced labor or child labor.

At Luz, we use organic cotton and we are proud that our products have carried this certification since our beginnings. We assure you of quality products while respecting social and environmental standards.

You can trust us; at Luz, transparency is our mantra!

OUR GREEN COMMITMENT

Our goal is to develop sustainable and eco-responsible fashion, which is why we are committed to selecting recycled or organic materials.

Abandoned fishing nets account for 70% of plastic waste in the sea, posing a huge danger to marine biodiversity.

Econyl uses this resource to create a super fabric ideal for making a multitude of products (swimsuits, bras, leggings, wetsuits, cycling shorts, and even bodysuits).
