INTERVIEW HORTENSE
How did you find out about LUZ?
I was planning a solo roadtrip to Bali last February. It was cold in Paris, and I hadn't seen a ray of sunshine for days. LUZ's Insta account was catching my eye, so I went to the store to try on several swimsuits, and I chose a black Julia that I never take off! I then met Claire and Alix, the founders, during an entrepreneurial talk. They asked me to join the team to take care of digital marketing.
What is it like to work at LUZ?
Galvanizing! We are a very close-knit team. We all have our areas of expertise, while being very versatile because sometimes we have to lend a hand to receive packages, welcome customers, etc.
What you like best about LUZ is…
The Buena Onda ("good vibes", editor's note) on a daily basis, the scent of orange blossom filling the office, the brainstorming sessions around Hispanic puns, the face of Jerry (Claire's dog), the overflowing energy of Zaz, the laughter of the stylists, discovering the photos of the Luztiques on Instagram, and seeing the swimsuits worn in the most beautiful places on Earth!

What is your favorite piece?
My Julia swimsuit, for its "young girl in bloom" look from the front and "who's that girl?!" from the back. I've tasted the comfort of organic cotton, and I admit that it's very difficult to go back to lycra after trying it...
As an insider, any preconceived ideas about jerseys?
Some customers think that the swimsuits are too expensive. Developing a swimsuit takes between 6 and 8 months, and the investment is significant, both financially and socially, because LUZ is also committed to sustainable development. Buying from LUZ means participating in a virtuous ecosystem that respects the environment more and fairly rewards the small hands in the workshops. I think that our consumption patterns will change fundamentally in the years to come, that we will prioritize sustainability and therefore quality.
Are you sensitive to ecology?
Like many, I sort my waste, I take a water bottle and tote bags everywhere with me. I also prefer to invest in a beautiful piece rather than buying several pieces that I will only wear for one season.
What do you hear most in the office?
“I have ONE Peach, ONE Peach!”, Zaz’s battle cry!
